Our food

We use high quality ingredients and spices and cook meat (halal) and vegetarian food. Our food from the Horn of Africa is different and hard to find anywhere else. Some of our dishes are spicy and others completely mild.

Eritrean Zigni  
A stew with cubes of lamb, onions, tomatoes, garlic and chilli. Served with rice and salad.

Kenyan extravaganza (v)
Kidney beans with spinach, tomatoes, coconut milk, potatoes.  Served with rice and salad. Very mild.
Finger food
Selection of three dishes

Somali Samosas
Meat or vegetable.

Sudanese Falafel (v)
With salad, hummous, chilli or tahini sauce, pitta bread.

Bazinjan - Sudanese Aubergine dip (v)
Aubergine, fresh tomatoes, garlic, peanut butter. Served with bread.

Alija (v)
Eritrean vegetarian dish. Potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, ginger served with rice flavoured with sultanas + salad.

Chicken tagine
Slow stewed Moroccan dish with vegetables and olives
Chicken legs, carrot, baby potatoes, onion, garlic, lemon, parsley, coriander, olive oil, spices.

Eritrean fish soup
Cod with onion, garlic, parsley, butter, macaroni.

Moroccan vegetable stew (v)
Made with lentils, onion, pumpkin, tomatoes, green pepper, garlic, parsley, coriander.

Somali Suuqaar
Cubes of lamb with mixed vegetables, carrots, green pepper, potatoes, garlic, ginger. Served with rice and salad.

Somali mild vegetable curry with wholemeal chapattis (v)
A blend of carrots, spinach, cauliflower, potatoes, tomatoes and beans.
